Age Handicap Adjusted Swim Times
Who is faster? Your son or daughter? Or maybe, when you use these correction factors, your Dad and Gran can beat you!
Input your actual swim time and age.
Hold down the Ctrl key and click refresh to re-set the form.
This equation is accepted as being approximate and is derived by analysing masters world records, over a number of events. It applies over the whole masters age
range, but gets a bit more uncertain the older a swimmer gets. If you keep going to 98 you get an age adjusted time of zero seconds.
This equation applies to both short course and long course.
Here is an
Age Handicap Adjusted Swim Times spreadsheet to download. This does the same as the above form, but your data can be saved. Also here is a
Decathlon Scores spreadsheet - which is broader based, as the former is more favourable to sprinters.
In the above spreadsheets by Brian Bain, the calculations for the Masters Decathlon uses a more exact analysis where the correction factors are worked out on an event by event basis - See
